Shinobi Enterprises, LLC is the world's first company to work exclusively towards countering China's espionage, covert influence, theft of technology, and trade secrets. We are one inch wide and a mile deep in our subject. We have trained over one thousand counterintelligence officers and analysts, and an equal number of private industry Insider Threat and security professionals.
Our Story
Nicholas Eftimiades founded Shinobi Enterprises LLC in 2019 to ensure businesses and governments have the knowledge necessary to mitigate China’s aggressive commercial espionage and national security intelligence related activities. Eftimiades retired in 2017 from a 34 year career in the US Intelligence Community. He spent more than one third of that time on overseas deployments and tours. After retiring, he began a career in academia as a professor of Homeland Security.

For nearly 30 years, Mr. Eftimiades has been a globally recognized authority on Chinese Intelligence: Operations and Tactics. He authored books, reports, and numerous articles on China’s commercial and national security espionage methods. His book "Chinese Intelligence Operations," is an examination of the structure, operations, and methodology of the intelligence services of the People's Republic of China. It is widely regarded as the pioneering work in the field. He updated that work in recent years.

In 2018, the US Government became increasingly concerned about China aggressively conducting national security and commercial espionage. Senior government leadership turned to Eftimiades. He was appointed to serve on the prestigious DoD Defense Science Board, the DHS, Homeland Security Advisory Council/Economic Security Subcommittee, and in several classified consulting roles.

Like so many others, US intelligence agencies and commercial companies are unprepared to contend with this threat. Over the last three years, Shinobi has trained over one thousand intelligence and counterintelligence officers and analysts. We have trained at least another thousand industry security and insider threat professionals.
Shinobi provides unique training and consulting services that are tailored by company, industry, and situation. Our capabilities are specifically designed to counter China’s theft of intellectual property, technology, and insider threats. Shinobi draws on the services of China area experts, researchers, and open source intelligence professionals.
